What kind of stupid analogy is this? I'm asking which disputes firm has better training + pay outside of Big 4 for a prospective NQ. The only two places I know that pay more:

Baker - Disputes training is not the best

Cavenagh - Have to go through 3 corp seats, training is not the best, 3 of their liti SAs have left for Oon and Bazul.

Instead of acting as if you're royalty and saying "if you had the grades you wouldn't have to ask", why not answer properly? Unless, in your own words, you dont know (because you dont have the grades).

Hmm, OP here... from my conversation with those in WS/MC intl arbi practices (those without a local arm) e.g HSF, KS - the training isnt very holistic per se - you're stuck doing leg work and they don't bother grooming you for partnership, even if you're capable.

In any case, I was asking more for a prospective NQ - those practices dont offer positions to NQs

Baker disputes is very decent. It's a good bunch and they have been on a streak of high profile matters in recent years. Also good sub speciality practices like construction and Insolvency/restructuring.

CC a bit more political, and as you go further up, less prospects for progression.

The answer then is clearly Oon and Bazul #supportlocal

Those ppl upset w law firms who have slighted them should try n find ways by connecting with similar minded ppl (on LinkedIn) and then ranting privately over beer and whiskey.

It’s better and more therapeutic

false, cc offers sg qualification training contracts to local students. their trainees join the firm's singapore office straight from law school and they are paid on the international scale from day one. source: s://careers.cliffordchance.com/apac/locations/singapore.html

2.

(a) "The SG training period is 6 months." false, the batch of students who just signed their tcs this month will have to train for a year. this change was announced in 2018. keep up with industry please

(b) cc trainees get a bonus in their second year of training too. if you want to count bonus, the correct calculation is:

baker's pay for initial 2 years: 2.5k x 12 (training period period to get qualified) + 8.5k x 14 (including 2 months bonus) = 149k (average of 6.2k per month)

cc's pay for initial 2 years: 6k x 12 (training period period to get qualified) + at least 7.5k x 14 (including 2 months bonus)= at least 177k (average of at least 7.3k per month)

"You can see that the [cc] lawyer usually makes significantly more up to this point."
Have the Baker white knights accepted defeat? Will they be issuing an apology?
