Thanks! In which month is bonus usually declared / paid at B4, if anyone knows?

Wads the purpose behind this question? Your bonus is like poooof. Don t pine over it. The NQ 5k is alred front loaded with bonus. So may oso be cut if th firm nt doing well

Don't BS if you don't know leh.

The NQ 5.6-ish to 6k-ish salary has some frontloaded bonus involved, but that's just for accounting purposes (and so they can clawback the bonus if you tender). They absolutely will not clawback this amount unless you leave (and many firms do not clawback even if you leave). For simplicity, around 1/4 to 1/5 of your salary is pegged as "bonus" (i.e. 4800 as base, 1200 as frontload).

They will pay you an "additional" bonus around the end of their financial year, which is usually 2-3 months on top of the "frontloaded" bonus.

No clawback what has been paid. However if you leave, after you give notice they will pay base only.
NQ now around 5 + ish.
And the 0-3 months is base salary x 0-3 months.

Junior assoc here from a small mid sized. Thinking of applying out and moving firm from Jan onward. Would applying in Sept be too early. Not expecting any bonus this year. Didn’t have any also.

BS, it's not for accounting purposes.
It's a play on the numbers.
It's to make your salary look higher when it is actually lower.
To prevent assocs from complaining their yearend bonus they have got is too miniscule.
If they cut your salary because COVID, it can be also explained away as cutting the frontload.

tldr, Frontload makes you feel better.

What's your notice period?

Usually applications to the larger firms take around 1 month before they are reviewed (and any interviews scheduled - with the exception of firms like Wongp that generally like to interview asap), so you can expect a lead time of around 1.5 mths from applications to knowing the results (1mth processing, 1 week later interview, 1 week later results).

If you got 3 months notice period, means u need a 4.5 mth lead time. If your notice period is shorter, then adjust accordingly.
