Ownself justify ownself is not legit.
So your partners think you all really valuable meh?
If so then why don’t they make you partner and get a share in the business?
Bcos you are dispensable…
If you don’t want to work, they get in your juniors waiting to take over your job

I got to call this out.
You’re saying essentially that as a junior associate who is really no different from an executive or specialist in a MNC, you should be paid more just because the company is profitable and making millions or billions in profits a year? Are you nuts??

Does a salesman selling cars get to keep the selling price of the car just because he sold the car??

You think you can bill 3-4x without the goodwill of the firm, the secretarial support, the firm’s clientele, etc?

employers not only paying for the work done. employers are also paying for all the qualifications required to be able to do those work in the first place, amongst many other factors. Get some perspective buddy and don’t be trapped in a wage slave mentality. Otherwise, more power to you and enjoy getting abused economically.

The first para of your meaningless verbiage and I already can tell you don't appreciate the difference between a normal company and a professional services business, let alone the partnership model that most law firms are structured around.

Go pick up a book about business and do some reading to increase your knowledge. It might also help you serve your clients better - assuming you're not dealing with low value PI work.

Keep convincing yourself that you're content to remain a poor underpaid dog at your Chinatown firm. Your billings are helping your boomer partner change his Lexus every 4 years. Meanwhile, you'll be struggling to pay for your BTO flat.

So you wanna talk about professional services business? You serious?
Then let’s compare the audit firms and the tax advisory firms…
Let’s not get started.

Are you saying you need a LLB specifically to be able to do the law work in the firm?
You serious??

Read this and get some education dude. It answers some of the areas you're trying to allude to.

Not everything is relevant to the Singapore context of course but the gist is there and there are commonalities in how the legal services markets operate in most jurisdiction. This only scratches the surface.

Don't be a brick in the wall like a good socially engineered worker. Open your eyes to how you're being overworked. People like you are why partners can get away with gorging themselves on the billings of exploiting overworked juniors. And we all wonder why law salaries in Singapore has been stagnant for the last decade.
