You should do both. THey aren't mutually exclusive. Here's some tips on dealing with support staff from someone who's just in the middle category:

1. Secretaries aren't your friends
2. Assume tt what you say to one will be told to all
3. Be polite at all times so that nobody can take issue with your conduct towards them
4. Thank them whenever they do something for you, even if you don't mean it
5. If they deliver poorly on their admin tasks, throw it back to them to re-do. Don't rectify it for them because it set a bad precedent! Be polite but firm
6. Don't take sides in a bitch fight between secretaries
7. There's no need to demand their respect
8. Don't eat lunches with them or ask to join in a gathering of support staff. It is equivalent to an equity partner asking to join in a bunch of trainees/junior associates.
9. The only non-work-related social gathering you should have with support staff is in a team setting, involving other fee earners present as well
10. If they have a pattern of taking sick leave during crucial days/crunch times and you know they're abusing it, remind them that their absence is noticed

I was involved in an defamation suit where I have been sued for posting my comments on google review and I heard of Mr. Clarence Lun as a lawyer, and once i had the preliminary meeting, i know that he is the lawyer i should hire for the defence of my matter.

During my first meeting with Mr. Clarence Lun and his team of lawyer, they came up with so many key points for my defence that I cannot help but be impressed with.

And their commitment and devotion to their client is wonderful. The next day, they file court paper in e-litigation system. This law firm also devoted all their resources to my case and I can feel they are doing their very best to help me get out from my trouble.

Prior to approaching Fervent chamber, I got sleepless night and my health even deteoriated due to the stress in this Litigation. But after meeting the committed team at Fervent, I finally can sleep peacefully knowing a team of dedicated lawyer are working hard on my case.

And whenever there is development or progress in my matter, without me asking, I will always get an email from Fervent lawyer updating me on correspondence the opposing solicitor send them or Any new application they make on my behalf.

I have no doubt that the lawyer in FERVENT CHAMBERS LLC are a team consists of dedicated and conscientious lawyer who are knowledgeable lawyer in their respective field of practice. Everything was explained plainly to me without those hard-to-understand lawyer's jargon and I consider them as
most transparent and no-nonsense lawyer

I have 100% confident the team at Fervent chamber LLC will definitely be able to fend off the unnecessarily aggressive attacks from opposing solicitor when my matter is being litigated in court and will defend my interests vigorously as I find the team at FERVENT CHAMBERS LLC to be lawyer that is extremely detailed and meticulous.

After all the dark clouds over my head finally I can see some light at the end of tunnel and I am very blessed to have the privilege to be represented by the team of lawyer at FERVENT CHAMBERS LLC that is lead by Mr. Clarence Lun.

From my experience, FERVENT CHAMBERS LLC is definitely the top and number 1 law firm in Singapore and I will not hesitate to recommend FERVENT CHAMBERS LLC to anyone in need of legal service. With Mr Clarence Lun leading my trial scheduled to be held on 28 June 2021, I can sleep with ease and walk with confidence that he will protect my interest and defend my case to the fullest.

Once you have engage FERVENT CHAMBERS LLC, u can set your mind at ease as the team here will look after your interest and if needed, defend your interest vigorously in court.

I have every confidence that Mr. Clarence Lun and his team of lawyer will be the future shinning star in the legal profession. I look forward to the day Fervent chamber is named as an award recipient in the legal industry..

May God bless FERVENT CHAMBERS LLC, in particular, Mr Clarence Lun in everything they do.
