Clyde & Co Maritime
Saw that Clyde & Co is hiring NQ-2PQE Maritime lawyer for 8-11k. Can anyone confirm the figures? How’s the progression and culture there like?

Thats so little. The alternative career that the state mouthpiece is pushing aka social escorting pays 10-30k easily for 0 PQE. Interesting to see how far Singapore has become, from First World to Third.

Most firms have not changed their hiring policy since the beginning of covid/cb.
Even if activity picks up (which, to be fair, it has), it is unlikely that firms will commit to additional headcount at this time. The covid situation is still quite volatile.
This is in relation to lateral hires.
I believe most firms have tried to maintain their retention rates.

Yeah I wouldn't move if I didn't have a good reason to - if the situation takes a turn for the worse and the firm needs to ax people, guess who goes first?...

You'll be in for a surprise - they do market themselves well but the truth is not so pretty.
In terms of the "pretty partners". The female MD is in a relationship with another one of the MD. Alot of the lawyers you see are consultants (i.e. never in office or part-timers) and chose to go to WMH because they are effectively retired from law, for e.g. one of the pretty partner(s) you are looking at runs a full-time swimsuit brand and barely works at the firm.
YMMV on the "fancy"-ness of the place, but there are alot less lawyers than you expect (from viewing their page). The actual number is closer to 3-4 lawyers (excluding the managing directors) as the rest are legal secretariat/paralegals or "practice trainees" who are yet to come in to the firm, they are just put there to bolster the numbers.
