To any students who are doing internships, would suggest reaching out to associates in the firm to chat about how life is like. These associates were once in your shoes and you will be surprised by how many are willing to have a discussion with you. Never hurts to try.

Yep. It's probably only from 3PQE onwards that the barrier really comes up... Can testify that NQs and 1PQEs still look at law students as our juniors and will willingly share if you ask nicely

I treat my interns equally, regardless of gender, unless he/she is extremely unlikable.

Serious question here.

Do equity partners want to hire slaves or they actually do want to hire someone with an aligned “vision”, “mission”, “goals” (cues all sorts of catchwords) as them ?

They Say want the right fit but is it the case where right fit = being a glorified slave and u shut up and do the bidding?
