that's surprising
they have a number of Of Counsel, so I was under the impression they paid close to MC rates.

I think you're referring to R&T's respective posts for corporate and dispute resolution (investigations) Associate. I notice that post has been a recurring post on LinkedIn for the past 1 year, and I think HR or whoever's in charge just probably forgot to disable the function.
I have had many friends (legal execs / those who did not get retained by their firms) who see it as a glimmer of hope - hence the 200+ applications EACH time the post gets re-posted.
But I highly doubt HR would view your application through LinkedIn given:
1. None of my friends (some even submitted each and every time the post comes up), got the notif from LinkedIn saying the poster had read their application.
2. HR is already dealing with more than sufficient applications going in through their recruitment email.

If you're talking about EHE, I can (at the very least) confirm that the monthly salary for a NQ Associate is closer to salaries of mid-sized firms than Big 4. In fact, the monthly salary offered for NQ in 2019 isn't close Big 4's at all.

If that is the position that the inquirer was referring to, I applied for that position too previously, and got an interview. It wasn't what I expected.

My questions are then whether:
1) the roles on that listing are up to date and whether those teams are still hiring
2) if there are already more than 200 plus applications on LinkedIn itself, how can an applicant standout? Most of us already come from the same schools, same backgrounds and same academic achievements (ie FCH)

It's the other way around. Everyone can get into the 'internationals'.
MC / Baker - Big 4 - Mid Sized - Small.
