But the observations are quite accurate.
Eton and Oxford the traditional blue blood pathway
Then one of the top tier barrister sets - think Blackstone, Fountain Court, 39 Essex, along those lines. Just looking at their barrister’s list is giddying. 95% have an Oxbridge degree.
These are feared litigators globally.

Which is why it takes a certain type of person.

Yeah how is retention coming along? Also, would love to hear from the lawyers still in practice if it is true that "demand has surged for counter-cyclical practice areas such as restructuring and insolvency, commercial disputes, international arbitration, employment, and private wealth investments, said Mr Yong from Withers KhattarWong" (quote from The Straits Times' article "Singapore law firms tighten purse strings, adapt to changes in demand")?

Pretty sure retention will still be hit. How bad, I'm not sure. Employment yes, IA depends on subject matter.

At least one big 4 firm has announced retention. Not much change for that firm from last year -> close to 100%. There will be more updates after this week.

R&T's financials is definitely nowhere as good.
I would have guessed it was either A&G or WP if I didn't already know that WP hasn't announced yet.

Any other news regarding local big firms' retention rates? Rodyk, R&T and the JLVs/FLAs?
Appreciate all the discussion about US/Magic Circle and London salaries but it is unhelpful for us average performing peasants stuck with local firms
