Should I wait it out here to clock PQE (in an area of law I have no interest in) or explore options in other law firm, LSC or in-house (a bit too early?)?

To be honest I have no idea where my interest lies and it’s a bit too late to start exploring now as I might be seen as a job hopper if I keep switching. Sigh
If you don't see yourself doing this for decades, I think the best option would be to leave right now / ASAP so that you can possibly go into an area you like.

Think if you had entered practice from 2015 onwards, you would find it very different from 2011

Are you implying that a lawyer in private practice is immune to the effects of an economic downturn? I remember the GFC years...when lawyers were asked to leave their firm jobs in NY, HK, SG and London (including first year associates).

I trained in litigation and practiced for 2 years. I left at PQE3 and went in-house. It's a steep learning curve moving from liti to corporate/commercial, but doable.

Don't despair! There are plenty of opportunities out there for people like us.

Also, what are the prospects? Can a AGC lawyer return to private practice or go in-house or will the skill sets be so vastly different that one would be stuck in AGC? Thanks in advance.
Hard to say. Some former prosecutors have thrived in the private sector. Occasionally one or two have made SC as well. But in recent years, the resignation rate from AGC is very low. Perhaps a mix of generally ok pay, manageable hours, relative autonomy and meaningful work. So hard to say how the market prices former AGC lawyers currently.

What is the salary in agc?

big 4 here general liti. 2 pqe
average knock off time is 11 pm ,
lunch time at desk
don’t feel it’s worth my time as I’m always tired on weekends and have been going back office least one weekday

How should I live my life? Does it get easier?

Is anyone able to share more about the culture, hours, etc at international firms in Singapore, particularly Clifford Chance?
