the traineeship role is with a mid sized company but there'll definitely be a steady flow of work. mostly WFH. somedays go office.

is it manageable to work during Part B and still pass? not aiming for distinctions or anything like that. not taking hard electives like ACP.

i had decent grades in law school but have been slacking during part B. but will definitely buck up now to manage time better.

anyone who worked during part B, please feel free to share

Is it full time?

I'm currently working while doing Part B, doing 3 days a week (in terms of hours) with a company that's giving me a lot of flexibility in how I manage my time. I don't recommend you do anything more than that. I basically have no free time outside of working and studying.

But I'm also very thorough with my studying (like to read the entire syllabus) -> if you have good muggers and are content just reading through them for the exam, a full time job might be doable.

Anybody left Big4 around this time (NQ)? Thinking of leaving, and the firm has reimbursed me the bar fees, just wondering if I will really have to pay it back to the company? How does it work?

Sure, seeing as getting a 2:2 is in itself unlikely... they've made the honors requirements so low nowadays that you're less likely to find a 2:2 grad than a 2:1 or a first.

What is 2:2? I have only heard of FCH at KCL

yes, it's supposed to be full time. but since i haven't started yet i don't know if there'll actually be enough work to occupy me for 8 hours a day. it doesn't seem like that kind of job but i guess i can't really tell at this point.

i think i'll sit on it for a few more days before deciding since i'm not exactly the most disciplined person. thanks for your input - i do like to be quite thorough about my readings (most of the time) so that's definitely something to consider

But my one month of salary from the one month notice is less than the bar fees? Especially since no front load bonus while serving notice right?

I am a retired ex lawyer - too bad you legal peons with big dreams regardless of where you come from. This is an industry without much prospects as before. Have fun while it lasts.
