When you're paying 20k a month but still having to rehire junior lawyers every 8 - 12 months, do you really think it's still just "all about the money" for those people? They got the salary, lived the life, and realised it wasn't worth it. For those that can stick it out, good for them.

But my point is, don't be so quick to call him an idiot. In many ways, it could have been the right choice. But he'll never know for sure because we can't live two lives.

What are some of the abuse experience that people go through? Care to share? Would like to be prepared.

Same profile probably your junior and I am thinking of leaving. Leaving totally as in not going to do anything ancillary to law.

I am actually in a senior BD role but not in SG..not going to disclose more as it might be easy to identify me.

BD can be very fun if you are a more hands-on person and if you like meeting people. The pay is decent enough to get me through the lifestyle I want and it is not that difficult to climb to a more senior role.

Like what I said in my previous post, you don't need much prior experience for roles like this. But it is important to convince the hirer why and how you are going to acquire new customers and sell additional products or services to existing ones. Just read a couple of BD-related books and you will be able to ace the interviews.

attend a coding bootcamp and grind really hard to switch careers.

Yeah I agree, someone called in Aug 2016 will not be getting 12k (before bonus) in 2020 (unless fast-tracked). But I guess he/she might in 2021 when he/she is still 4PQE. Basically saying x PQE is not a clear terminology for discussing this

Hi guys I just joined a big firm and have never been required to record billable hours before. I wonder if I have to hit my billable hours daily or all that matters is that at the end of the month, my target billable hours are reached?

I would ask my colleagues, but as we are all WFH now, it's quite difficult to reach out to them since i've not met them before.
