to newbies reading this - get good or get out, otherwise you deserve everything that you get and more besides.

for minimum wage of 4k a month the least anyone can expect is halfway decent grammar. if you want to roleplay as a nitec holder you shouldn’t be posting in this thread
You ought to better reflect upon yourself as a human.
Karma will bite you very soon.

Welcome to Law.

Just surprised that law society issn't taking actions
Usually bullies target only the weaklings ... maybe if you stand up to him, it will be a different story

U know in law firms, seriously no one is that good in their work.
People make mistakes all the time.
As a junior, definitely you won’t know a lot of things.
If someone scolds you a lot that’s really unfair
U are trying to learn - they can’t impose their writing style on you.

Secondly, how to stand up to a person if as a junior you don’t know a lot of things.

I guess it makes sense that you have to come to an anonymous forum to justify why you’re paid peanuts when you can’t be bothered to meet the standards expected of an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

To the last few posters - I hope you all find a new line of work soon, because your attitude is a total disgrace to the profession. Sure, that guy might have been a total cock in posting that. But if all you can disagree with is their tone, then that’s because you know deep down that they’re right.

The firm is neither a charity nor a government welfare programme. Take your hugbox woe is me crap somewhere else, and bring this thread back on topic for a change.

I hope you can stop bringing a smirk.

Some day you will be gone and a new generation of lawyers will rise up to replace you.

The least you can do is to show mentorship, compassion and patience. So that one day they can also pick up the lawyering skills with confidence and be good.

It is no wonder with an attitude like yours, junior- mid lawyers are quitting.

You sir, mdm, are the mypotic one who cannot think for the greater good of the legal industry.

Have you ever thought why lawyers leaving the industry? It’s because of people like you who
created such toxic environment.

Sure you may be good at what you do, but nothing lasts forever. You too will be replaced by so many factors, family and work and economy.

Why can't you be more kind and guide the new lawyers?

It is people like you and your mentality that cause new lawyers to leave the industry.

Agreed. Why must be so harsh and sarcastic.

You must be new to the SG legal industry. This is how lawyers were trained in the past and the same approach is being applied today.

If you're willing to work overseas for a while, CC London takes in ~80 trainees a year compared to the ~2 of CC SG. Statistically more likely to get in if you apply there, then make an internal transfer to CC SG after a few years.
