U worried. I also equally worried.
Once don’t get retained by this particular firm, salary immediately drop from 7k+ to 5k+. Extra $2k can either buy Michael kors or Miu Miu.

What about that trainee? She confirm get retained what - top part b and still work the hardest.

You have chosen to be in this industry either for the money or justice.
End of the day, just choose what you really want and what really suit you the most. Take responsible for the decision and move on. Otherwise leave the industry either after called or what.
There are tons of other things you can do even if you are not in law firm. I left after tc and a happy person now as an in house.

so? knowing something doesn’t mean that that thing is right.
Singapore must be one of the worst places to be lawyer.
From trainee to assoc stage there are so much **** to take on psychologically.
Rention, late nights, bosses abuse n bully, crazy hours, low salary.
who works for $2k a month and 80-100 hours a week in Singapore?
Isn’t this plain wrong?
many of us do it because we are at mercy of the firm to qualify and not because we love law.
It is no wonder why so many people are mad like those bosses with issues who treat juniors like dirt.
It’s about time law society do something.

Not fair right don’t you think? Then if you don’t have part b and no work, then what’s next?

I actually think that’s very fair. Go by merits. What’s unfair is that some people are hired/retained merely because of connections.

What if I’m a trainee in the said firm and I don’t have connections, results or work?

FML
Another 1 am knock off time plus cannot claim taxi fare.
$2000 is really a terrible salary.
And am now really scared I cannot get retained.
What should be my next step?
