A Bible-thumping, card carrying Christian cb no less. I wonder what his wise friends holding high positions in the LCF think of his behaviour.

You should reconsider a career in law if your firm is paying nowhere near these rates, which imo are already low.

I'm a Singaporean studying in law in Australia (a sg-reognised-but-**** university). I will be graduating next year and so far I have received a graduate offer from Clifford Chance in Australia. I haven't applied to many SG firms for TCs and have found it very difficult to get internship experience in SG. I highly doubt that I will receive any offers from Singapore.

I don't foresee myself staying in Australia for long. If I want to come back to SG, what are my best options?
1) Accept CC in Aus, hopefully transfer back to SG
2) Accept CC for now but keep applying for SG firms

CC Singapore, and in fact tons of US firms, take on Aussie-trained lawyers. It's well known that they're good. I'd stick with CC Aussie if I were you. Aussies are also very commercial too. Very grounded. That's a big plus.

You got to be joking. Take CC in AUS obviously.. get called with them after the 2 year TC and then decide if you want to come back.. if you are in a crap uni in Aussie none of your SG offers will even come close. Take CC, whitewash your degree by staying at CC Aussie for a few years, then watch as doors open up in future.

Australia is also much more chill than SG, so you may not even want to come back after working there for a few years.

10th day in a row (including full-on weekends) working till 3-5.30 daily, one all-nighter on a Sunday (34 hours non-stop working)...

I am a trainee in a big 4/int'l firm. My hours are bad, and work is intense. But my seniors are probably 2 hrs worse than me (and about 2x faster in work product, and 3x faster in processing speed)

Clients are super intelligent, non-bs, and demanding. Send you email, then ask you to hop on a call to discuss their 40 comments after 10 mins to go through.

Is this really sustainable??

You are paid for the work you do

Seems you want to get paid the same for less work

Not happening

Not happy find a different line of work, or tell your boss you happy to work less for less pay

For the rest of us who have long since resolved such issues, please bring the thread back on track
