Law has a dark culture. Everyone wants a pie, and the competition among peers is intense

Rodyk has losts its competitive advantage in this market. Its headcount has been rapidly declining and it will become a forgotten mid size firm like Donaldson and Burkinshaw. Lee and Lee has strong government connections and alot of interesting corporate work is being done for the GLCs and stat boards

Lee & Lee corp is quite good. I would highly recommend people to do their training contract or be hired as an associate. The bosses too are willing to teach. A good starting ground to learn.
What’s Rodyk? I can’t find such a firm.

My dear, how much is it then? vs the hours you work.

Depends. At the start, we earn 5.5 - 6k vs 3 - 3.5k of other people, so its double. 10 years later, we earn 20 - 25k vs 6 - 7 k of other people, so its quadruple. Bottom line is that the more senior lawyers get, the more the difference between our pay and that of others.
Hourly rate lowest? You sure? We work maybe 5 hours more than other people per day, but our salary is quadruple. Think about that.

to be honest, apart from IB, my peers in audit/compliance/engineering/HR/marketing all seem to have just as bad or worse hours than i do - and they're getting paid half of what i'm getting in a big4.
