lol idt it's him. first, i'm sure he's too busy laughing his way to the bank. secondly, and in particular if our LFs in this forum are to be believed, setia is out-paying market / even B4 in trainee comp. soooo idt they're that concerned about making ends meet in running their biz.
to be clear lest anyone accuses me of NOW being him - i disagree with the sentiment in his post and think trainees/prospective trainees, especially ones who signed up for law school without necessarily appreciating that their traineeships would be doubled in length, are rightly and validly concerned about remuneration (ergo, ability to afford life goals, etc.), and hence are fully entitled to express their views. law is (can be?) a noble profession yes but nobleness does not mortgages fund.

Not the best show of class from a big4, but I don’t think it’s fair to insinuate that they don’t care about trainees or they aren’t matching the market as a b4. And I doubt clawbacks are unique to WP.
I think of it as a boyfriend that asks for the gifts back from the girlfriend after the break up. Sure a dick move, but can’t say he didn’t do his part.

Maybe some mid/small sized firms have such provisons (not sure about that); but the other big 4 do not have such clawback provisions (eg AnG).

So isit the other b4s or just AnG?
Even if they don’t, doesn’t make such a clawback unfair?

Not all mid/big firms have the clawback provision.
