Hi everyone. I was the lost and depressed SMU grad who posted about getting an offer for 2.6k for all 12 months.
Just wanted to thank those who replied and provided guidance. I got an offer yesterday paying 3k then 4k. Gladly accepted it lol. To those that are still struggling to get decent paying TCs, have a look at the lawsociety's TC page as that is where I found my current firm!

Anyone can confirm? Is it 3.5k first 6 months and 6k next 6 months? Or 3.5k for 12 months then 6k NQ?

I would suggest sticking to local universities mainly because of money and part A. Most people take Part A twice which is another extra year. As an overseas grad you will be fighting an uphill battle for employment as well. If you can please go SMU JD - it is a better school at the end of the day and therefore there are better opportunities. SUSS... let's just say I haven't heard great things la... just go SMU if you can.

What are the general consensus of SUSS grads?

Care to elaborate? I don’t mind long hours but heard it’s extremely bottom heavy (read: nobody clears nothing).

Just your average international firm. Nothing special.
Pay same or slightly higher than b4 probably. So in that sense it's a good backup for those who don't get into b4. However, I have heard that Kennedys has pretty good culture and decent working hours, unless you are very unlucky.

Hi, is K&L Gates Straits Law a good firm to join for funds/non-dispute? How is the trainee pay and culture?

Usually even Big4 gives more time, unless you just have a lazy senior pawning their work off to you.

Err do subs very difficult meh? Weren't you taught to do that in legal writing class in law school?
You are lucky if your team asks you to draft subs, which is way more intellectually stimulating and meaningful than tedious work like doc review or compiling bundles.
