can someone clarify how bonuses work in law firms? could be in general or in big 4? if 1.4k is front loaded then how many more months will one receive roughly? i understand that it depends on ur team and the economy, but just want to know if most of the bonus is already in front loaded.
also big 4 all front loaded? which law firms do not front load?

for your case, the registrar doc will likely own a thriving private practice in his 50s, with no shortage of patients. while you will struggle to find a living at the age of 50 as an aesthetic doc. who will want to have their face treated by an older doc when there's so many younger good-looking docs?

I completely disagree with this. Why is there this view that long term in B4 will always outperform intl firms?
The difference only kicks in when the person in B4 makes equity and that is a big if. I would go so far to say that only 1 / 50 will even get a chance to make equity.
Even so, assuming the pay of a junior equity partner is around 500k p.a, this is on par or possible even lower than someone who is a senior assoc in intl firm??? Dont be fooled by the title
It seems like this b4 > intl firm in the long term is just straight copium. In fact, most in b4 top teams like A&G M&A will jump at any opportunity to go into intl firm if presented.

I am curious of the 500+ partners in Big 4 as reported by Asian Legal Business. What is good estimate in terms of salaried and equity partners.

Your chances of making partner in intl firms are practically nil unless you are really lucky

Update: 3.5k for 6 months,
IF AND ONLY IF you are offered a position as an associate, they will offer you 5k/month for the next 6 months

Not all intl firms are the same. CC has consistently promoted Singaporeans to partnership.

What do the terms say ah? Will the trainees know around the half year mark if they will be retained or only towards the end? I am just wondering how does that work if someone is not offered at the 6 month mark, and is still required to train there for the remaining 6, wont this person have lost the motivation alr? What's the point? How do all these work?
