Bigger corp firms
2 going 3 PQE assoc here. 2020 called. I’ve spent my entire time in small to small-medium (no larger than 15 lawyers) practices. Current in a boutique corp really just doing general corp most of the time.
Aspiring to climb up the ladder no later than middle of 2023.
1. Which firms or practices are good for development
2. What salary should I be looking at. Currently in the 5k range.
3. When should I start looking for making SA. I know some of my peers have made it, but I hope so one day.

Outside the big 4, consider targeting the international firms' JLV or FLA outposts here to move up the ladder: Prolegis HSF. Ashurst ADT. Reed Smith Resource. Recently a heavy hitting corp partner moved to Kennedys to.
Maybe Eng & Co.
If you're already used to the smaller office enivron, the grind of Big 4 can be overwhelming.
That said the progression ladder for these firms is more undefined than B4 for sure. Hitting SA isn't difficult and should largely depend on years. But you're looking at anywhere between 4 to 8 years as an SA before you even get considered for JP or Associate Dir or equivalent rank. Pay variance is also very wide.
