2PQE (2020 called) going 3PQE in a small corp practice, contemplating a move to these practices (except CNP).

What is the salary scale?

Current notice is 2 months. Hoping to move by July. When should I start applying out? Planning a holiday once I am able to leave and rejoin another place.

Would a later start date be a put off for interviewers?

Advice you to finish your training and look to lateral after getting called.

sorry but this is terrible advice. as a trainee, you get some benefits and privileges from your eventual firm (most important of all, the privilege of being able to learn from scratch without a mismatch of expectations). especially if you're going to a much better firm. obviously the options for intl firm TC are very limited but if you have the opportunity now and you know where you want to be, don't procrastinate.

Lame. Nothing to do with AI. If anything, if and when AI can replace white-collar workers wholesale, entire sectors of the economy would've been upended long before lawyers.

"Silicon Valley" firms like Goodwin, Gunderson, Cooley were eager to ride the tech wave la. Now their tech clients all cui so they're cutting back too.

Join a solid UK or US firm with a good spread in their client base, and u won't go wrong, like A&O

"U obviously have not heard of chat GPT" is the most obvious giveaway that you don't know what you're talking about

The more important question is why are they taking up commercial liti roles? They are supposed to fill the shortage of lawyers in fam, crim and community-type law.

Were they all lying in their admissions interview about their passion for the man in the street?

Agree. It'll be respectable if they practice what the sought in the first place. their PC should just be restricted to crim and fam practice.

Wrong! Continue working for your local law equity partners! You will be paid poorly and will be grateful to have a job. Work long hours and give your youth to these miserly paymasters!!!!

You living in your own dream or is your daddy super connected in the legal industry? Doubt it’s the latter when you’re on this forum asking for tc advice. These intl tcs get filled way in advance and you’re here struggling to even find one to apply to. Of course if you’re talking about the local tie ups then things might be a little better in terms of spots freeing up some how but again, you’ll be better served in getting called with b4 and looking to lateral. Getting a b4 tc doesn’t magically make you the wunderkind.
