I am finding myself being overpowered by my laojiao secretary. Somehow with all the places I’ve worked I’ve never had a secretary I could coexist with.
Seccie is the partner’s pet.
I find myself sweeping the mess and being dragged into unnecessary problems

The key to interacting with laojiao seccies imo is to show them the deference that they wish to receive, until you have proven yourself enough to assert your own presence within the team
There's definitely an attitude of "eaten more salt than you've eaten rice" with some of these old birds. But you need to roll with it. A very experienced secretary is oftentimes more valuable to the partner than a newbie lawyer.
Seccies are also assessing newbie lawyers to see who are the more zai amongst the crop. They will respect those who are competent and take after the "big boss".
Try to get them on your side. A competent experienced seccie has saved by a_s more than once.
But don't play politics. Your respectability score will immediately plunge to zero if you involve yourself in such sordid affairs.

You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
Could you spare a $mall $mackerel for Woonie the Pooh?

Walter Woon should be delisted from SILE because of the glaring conflict of interest present. Not ideal for the SILE to allow a profiteering course provider to set or be placed be in a position to influence the determination of the standards necessary to practice. Impartiality is threatened as the moral integrity of the examinations entrusted to the board has the perilous propensity to be perverted for personal gain by a certain ex SILE dean, due to the element of gratification present for him to potentially induce, whether directly or indirectly, any potential manipulation to the examination content, standards and format.
