In any even, very few firms in Singapore are doing cutting edge work. For local firms, I wouldn’t consider any firm outside of A&G and maybe WongP as doing anything top class in terms of transactional work.

The phrase "wall street work" came out more than 10 years ago innit?
And yet you still rmb and r still talking abt it.
So whether really true or not, its already served its purpose. All publicity is good publicity..

Then what is R&T JP pay?
On a side note, I think many tech companies pay more than $17k for senior software devs
I think its ridiculous that a Big 4 JP earns less than a software dev when they work so much harder to have survived to that stage. Its more a reflection of how low local law firm pay is.

I think some idiot made this payscale like 4 years ago on this forum and people have been parroting this nonstop since then.
Only the MC salary is accurate, +/- $1k.
The mid-Atlantic US firm salary is completely hogwash - the majority of the SINGAPORE offices of those firms pay less than the MC SG offices for equivalent bands. These firms do not follow their UK or NY pay scales in Singapore - they pay significantly less here. And why should they?
On the so-called "Cravath US firm" - there are maybe only 3 firms that pay Cravath rates to ALL their SG associates. The remaining firms pay Cravath rates to a FEW top performers, on a discretionary and individual basis and this is also subject to a year or 2 of evaluation post hiring.
