Starts at 6B, and goes to 6A, 5B, 5A, etc.
Grades 6 and 5 are timescale, while Grade 4 to 1 is superscale.
Timescale salaries are currently.. behind the private sector a bit coz the private sector salaries jumped a bit faster in the past two years. But it will probably be reviewed and increased soon.
Superscale salary is well... basically what you would expect.

You won't find detailed information on Legal Service salary online. This information is confidential and officers are bound by OSA.
But as a rough guide, for Grade 6B (entry grade), if you have 2nd upper honours and did NS, you can earn almost 80k pa, including bonuses.

Hey cheers man.
Yes I quickly found out about the almost complete lack of public information on LSO salaries online after a few minutes of searching. Why is this so? Why would Legal Service Officers be especially bound not to reveal their salary when they are public servants just like the typical officer in a Ministry? This seems very strange to me (that public service salaries paid for by taxpayer dollars should be allowed to be held in such confidence), and if anyone has an explanation it would be really welcome. I mean, even accurate Admin service salary info can be found if really motivated, though not online, in books.
In addition, does the Legal Service give "vocation" related bonuses, eg. for being a JLC and whatnot?
Thanks to anyone who can fill me in.

I have a more fundamental question.
How does the earlier poster conclude that the salary of a legal service officer is supposedly confidential and subject to the OSA?
Information regarding a legal service officer's salary, albeit extremely outdated information, can be found online rather easily: http://www.lsc.gov.sg/eligi.html

This salary information is extremely outdated. The Legal Service scheme has been revised more than once since then and adjusted more towards the private sector. The current information on the different pay scales are confidential. Even an LSO would only know the salary range of his/her own grade as well as the very grade above him/her.
I have no idea why this information should be kept confidential (I know some ministries state the starting salaries of their officers online) but it is... So I can't reveal more! As I have said in my earlier post, a Grade 6B with 2nd upper honours and NS can earn you almost 80k pa, including bonuses.
As for "vocation" related bonuses, I'm not aware of that but from what I know, JLCs do get paid higher.
