Lol. Good luck. Hardly anyone makes the jump. Why would you even want to do it in the first place?

B4 assoc here.

Has anyone here been reprimanded for seemingly silly things? Like for emailing a document rather than printing it out and bringing it to the partner’s office? Or not showing up at a partner’s office for an assignment and waiting for them to either email the assignment or come to your office?

Can’t tell if I’m being “soft” or too sensitive… but I also feel like neither of these things were a big deal.

It’s not like I missed a deadline or there was a problem with my work product

I work in an international law firm and my head of department makes everyone print **** out and stamp draft. Word has it he can't use Word. And he enjoys calling people during weekends and lame timings

Sounds like my boss. Alot of the older Partners are fossils who can't really use IT stuff properly so they prefer printed page. The rest is mostly that they needed an outlet to release their stress.

it actually sounds like an ambulance chasing chinatown firm lawyer trying to assuage himself that he isn't at the bottom of the legal industry in terms of prestige.

Nah, but it’s true that most people in this forum know nothing about the industry.
