CPF is not tax. It is a deduction but CPF is your money. Employer's contributions make it even more worthwhile, because you use it to buy a house which generally rises in value, much unlike renting. Rent is debatable, since I'd or do use CPF to pay off mortgage repayments - which doesn't classify as expenditure or a deduction since I'd get it back upon sale. Tax is the only thing that matters.

How does a banded rate of up to 40% compare with Singapore's very low tax rate (100K is 95K post tax)? Even on a post-tax basis, 76K GBP in real terms is only a bit more than B4 2PQE post raise. Difference of around 10K? Correct me if I'm wrong.
We knew the usual B4 tax-deduction apologist is coming!! B4 wansui!

Not from B4 lol.. just pointing out that post tax the pay is about the same +- a few %. Not dissing anyone or supporting anything.

Btw congrats to the London office lawyers, heard there's also a pay rise to NQ salary across the border. LL now pays upwards of 100K GBP.

I am from a delisted school FCH. Although I could not get a TC at a good firm here because firms have standards, siala bro I get to drink prosecco at Battersea, too bad for all you sinkie plebs earning below my pounds and working for AMDK bosses.

I live like a f*cking king in a real f*cking house in Battersea, where the sea is better and the fish is battered. Be happy pwning each other on this forum while I delight in my fish and chips.

Delisted FCH (I see all you dissers out there talking about my school) still better than NUS 2.1, I ended up in the Battersea working for AMDK boss

If you’re a guy, you want a wife that has the qualities of a good wife.

Who cares about 2 pound Sainsburys and frozen Mac n Cheese. My delisted FCH is better than your 2.1 from NUS period. Happy eating chicken rice while we eat truffles and caviar at Savoy. My parents' HDB flat at AMK was put to good use, so I can eat luxuries.
