Transfer of service within civil service
Hi all. Anyone can advise what will happen to somebody who got a transfer of service within civil service? I heard that for transfer of service, the person year of experience in the 1st organisation will still be taken into account in new organisation for promotion/salary increment purposes. 13th mth bonus can still be retained in new org. Is that true? Thanks.

if you are not, basically you have two routes to choose from when switch from one agency to another: 1. quite and join as fresh - same as industry practice where you negotiate everything from scratch. 2. transfer - you retain your years of services and other benefit (such as 28 days of annual leave after serving for more than 10 years), but salary will be capped at the lower of your current pay and the new offer from the receiving agency, or in other words don't expect any increment. |
whether to transfer or join as new hire
anyone can advise on the above? i intend to join a new agency but am given two routes. am unsure which i should go for.

Hi,
I think it is best to check with the agency u intend to go to. Adding on the the previous comments: - Is there a change of job scheme? (e.g. mx to specialist scheme) If yes, a transfer might be less possible. unless u have the relevant skillset / pass technical test etc. Reason being: have to prove competency like the other specialist scheme officers when they join. |
