Contract term workers are the underdogs of ANY company. I used to be a contract worker too.

Every year-end, I will hear fellow colleagues (permanent staffs) taking about how they are going to use the bonuses to go for a trip to Europe, buy an Xbox 360 for their kids, go dining in a fancy restaurant, make the payment for a new car,... etc.

I can only keep quiet and listen to them talk. Not able to participate. It's a very lonely experience.

Worst thing is that most native Singaporeans are contract workers and foreigners are permanent staffs.

If there are no foreign workers who's going to build your flats?

but what about monthly salary ??
one can get a very low monthly salary and then these extra bonus just compensates it. compared to a company that pays high but less bonus.

Base salary is 17k a month - typical of most VP in foreign bank

how about casinos ?!?!?
