Gic
Hey all,
Anyone has some insight on GIC graduate programme? Interested to know about its compensation, career prospect, culture etc? It seems quite different from typical 2-year analyst stint at financial institutions. I get a feeling that people tend to stay at GIC for a longer period of time?
Also, curious about the way people write their salary? I assume all the figures are in SGD, and what does # mos mean when regarding bonus?
Thanks in advance.

There are a few graduate positions open for hiring at GIC. The most sought after position is to join on as part of the portfolio management team.
A simple idea of the candidates they hire for this team:
Most hires are either President scholars or studied in Ivy league schools overseas. There are cases from time to time that they hire valedictorians from local target unis( nus, ntu, smu) but that is very rare.
The easier way to join GIC is through their operations team. Second upper with past relevant internships are enough to secure an interview. The rest will be up to you.
GIC is generally considered a better place than banks due to the fact that they are a reputable buy side firm. The money at senior level is always better at buy-sides. Joining GIC will be a much more direct route to reach this finale than banks.

Haha, was just seeking personal advice, but that works too.
How's the compensation/long-term prospect joining full time? (Specifically as a foreigner)

Any idea what is the interview process like for their investment team, GPP? I have been shortlisted for an interview with them.

If you are joining mid/back office of GIC, just a heads up, they can't pay. Yes its a big name and one of the largest sovereign funds, but bonuses and basic are nothing impressive in the mid and back office.
