Default This kind of firm worth staying ?

- It is a Law firm

- 5 lawyers, including the managing director

- Only 2 support staffs (you and the HR/Accountant)

- Managing Director emphasis alot on hierarchy in the firm, end up even the newly called to bar young lawyer start behaving like he is someone of a 'higher level' and command you like you are some indon maid a.k.a. 'looking down' on you as a lower level working class because you are a support staff who just carry out admin duties.

- During office meetings, you feel really 'extra' because the lawyers are discussing somethings impt and only the HR/Accountant is needed to be present as she is an impt pillar in the firm.

- After each office meeting, intentionally or unintentionally, the managing director will 'chase away' the support staff, a.k.a. you and the HR/Accountant and they will close the door behind you to further discuss more impt matters.

- The managing director is often encouraging the lawyers to take up further courses if possible to upgrade themselves.

- The lawyers are nice and chatty to the HR/Accountant but behave differently when they approach admin staff i.e. you.

- Now they are discussing about acquiring new system to 'make work easier' in office but you know, your duties are already so easy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all those above, will you continue to stay on for that monthly salary ?

Or to look out for another job where you are not treated differently/looked down upon ?

You are the one who is choosing to put a negative spin on many of the things you mention.

-> This one you probably have to give examples, but I feel like it could be your own perception due to being the most junior in the office. I will say this: office hierarchy is real, for good reasons. It is not necessarily perpetuated by the people themselves, but it's just a natural pecking order. The lawyer who is paid 10k/month is worth more and does more for the company than the support staff who is paid 3k/month. Sure, they are both important, and the firm cannot operate without either of them. But the lawyer is more important. This is just how it is. Accepting this fact should not reduce your self-esteem. Focus on doing your job well and people will appreciate it.

- During office meetings, you feel really 'extra' because the lawyers are discussing somethings impt and only the HR/Accountant is needed to be present as she is an impt pillar in the firm. -> Idk what you want to hear about this, if they are discussing legal matters ofc you wont understand, why you holding this against them?

- After each office meeting, intentionally or unintentionally, the managing director will 'chase away' the support staff, a.k.a. you and the HR/Accountant and they will close the door behind you to further discuss more impt matters. -> This happens in every workplace. They probably see it as doing you a favor. I know I do when I ask the support staff or even junior associates to leave at the end of a meeting. Why keep you around and waste your time to discuss things that dont concern you? Shouldnt you be happy to leave the meeting? Furthermore, they could be discussing confidential matters.

- The managing director is often encouraging the lawyers to take up further courses if possible to upgrade themselves. -> Btw, this is compulsory for lawyers. They need to take a certain number of courses a year. If you want to participate too, why don't you ask? If you see a course which can help you make your job better (important point, the firm wont send you to do a law course just because the other lawyers are doing so as it's not relevant to you. it's wasting money from the firm's perspective), ask the boss if they can send you.

- The lawyers are nice and chatty to the HR/Accountant but behave differently when they approach admin staff i.e. you. -> Only this point clearly shows differential treatment, but is this possibly because you are just new?

- Now they are discussing about acquiring new system to 'make work easier' in office but you know, your duties are already so easy.-> I have no idea what this means. Are you trying to say that your job is already so easy you're scared of being let go?

All in all, the post reeks of insecurity, which is not me trying to slam you. After all, you're just some random person on the internet. Find measures of self worth in yourself and work towards bettering your professional and personal skills. It will be beneficial for you in the long run.
