i am a law student with my bachelors from india and doing my masters at nus law. and i have to say that the legal markets here absolutely STINK
! how is it that the largest local law firm here a&g or for that matter others like rajah and tann or wong partnership pay only 4k/month??? indian law firms now pay more than that despite being smaller in size and having less clients.. so do tell me ?? how is this happening? coz if singapore wants to attract talent then how do you plan to afford them with a salary of 4k/month..it really is a JOKE. law firms here are holding back tons of money. and i mean TONS.. foreign law firms pay starting salary if 9k/month.. not including bonuses. i mean this is ridiculous. totally.

Like i say previously, you are doing fine but i guess your persistent on getting an answer here will be in vain. I guess the admin have already told you before that what you are getting are more than fair.So that answer your answer.

I only can tell you that your answer that you are seeking here only can be answered by you yourself and your employer. if you don't think what you are getting is not justifiable to your talent,bring it up to your board members,If you are smart, you know what i mean.

People here do not really know you and what your worth to help you justified that.

so, considering going back to India?

u need to consider the company's balance sheet and profit and expense statement before making a statement against the company. if u say that the companies in singapore should pay S$9,000 and above to the lawyer staff, then the fee they should charge their client should be higher than S$9,000? Who will pay for that high fee? Ridiculous high fee right? So, that reflects a lower salary too.

Why not you consider the option of opening a legal firm and try charging S$9,000? And also try paying your staff good fees as you suggested? Would you do that?

please let me know if there are any opening job position. I am kind of desperate earning only $1500/month.. I do almost everything... I am pretty much can do banking.. care to take in my resume.. Anybody.. help help!!

i think you do not even know what banking is. THINK through of what you want first. I think it is quite sad to go for a job only because it pays well. LOOK at the long term prospects.
