Principal engineer salary Globalfoundries
Hello All,
I am in the process of relocating to Singapore. I have been offered a principal engineer title at Globalfoundries. I couldn't find much information about pay grade and salary. How much a principal engineer earns per year (excluding 13th month bonus) ? Is the pay sufficient for a condominium rent and other house running cost? I will be living with my wife and 6 months baby.
Appreciate your help..

don't sell yourself short and settle for less! make sure to ask for a full expat package, including living allowance (for a principal engineer level nothing less than a 3 bedder in the Orchard Road area) transport allowance (nothing less than a Merc C class), 2 x biz class tickets back home for the whole family per year, also trying to negotiate an education package for your kid (when the time comes) at one of the international schools here will be good too.
all the best!

principal engineer would be around that 20-25k per mth.
bonus depends on coy performance usually 6-8mths.
car allowance is about 3-6k depends on how you nego.
housing allowance is another 6-12k depending on how many dependants you have.
HR will always try to short change you.
remember to ask for
- spousal allowance ( 80% of wife last drawn pay)
- kid's education allowance.
- scholarship for MBA
- quarterly Business class return airfare.
remember to keep in mind that life in singapore is very expensive.
a typical equivalent suburban property compared to where you are from is about 3-5million. monthly rental is abt 10k.
for apartment its about 4-8k depending on size and location.
decent car is about 150-200k. even for rental of car its about 5-6k per mth.
congrats and welcome to singapore!

Posts 2-5 are troll posts. I hope it's obvious to TS.
Manufacturing industry, even for wafer fabs, is.A Sunset industry in singapore.
Do a google search for straits times article on news of foundries. It has been a LONG while since the journalist bothered to allocate any space to this industry.
While this may not be true elsewhere, it's true in sinagpore
