What are the Best Jobs in Singapore Now?
 

What are the best jobs to take up in Singapore now? I've taken a look at the courses offered by the Local Universities and found the following toughest degrees to get into:
1) Medicine
2) Dentistry
3) Pharmacy
4) Law
5) Business/Accountancy
6) Computer Science
7) Chemical Engineering
8) Aeronautical Engineering
9) Environmental Studies

Some of the traditional powerhouses (e.g. Law) seem to be facing trouble in the current environment. If we look purely on a prospects/income basis, which would you go for?

Minister is da best

Won't go wrong with medicine, dentistry, and law.

Most of the other are highly skewed. A lot of ppl joined those courses because of the minority who are successful and skewed the statistics and outlook.

I wouldnt say law is a sure bet.. im a law student (local u) right now and a lot of my batchmates cant get training contracts (id say around 30%)

its far worse in the UK and Aus unis... even FCH (from certain schools) wont get u a training contract

Career options in descending order of preference:

Minister > MP > Dentistry > Medicine > Law > Civil Servant > Everyone else

How about Chemical Engineering and Business/Accountancy? They used to be the more sought-after programmes after Medicine/Dentistry/Law.

They are still very sought after.

But chem eng is extremely competitive, if your grades is not there, the chances of you getting into the more lucrative sector is slim.

Same for business, if you dont make your cut as a fresh grad, or during the initial years of ur career, you are just 'the rest' who is stuck with a general degree.

The average to above average accountants earns around the same as civil servants, only the high performers can make it to the director level or above.

how do you guys think about the prospect in logistic/supply chain management?

logistics and scm are not worth the while imo.

better options than banking and finance imo.
