Default Career of an ERP consultant

I dont see any threads on this, so wanna ask a few questions here:

1. career paths/progression? cause im considering to start at a small firm under #SGUP midcareer traineeship

2. what is the typical work life for ERP consultant (finance/account) in SG. OT much, incl weekends?

3. im offered 3k as trainee, wanna know whats the salary range for entry/mid/senior levels?

4. is business central ERP good to focus on or should i consider sap ERP or some other popular ERP instead, or at least switch to them at some point?

5. which has better career prospects, functional or technical?

6. any certifications recommended to get along the way?

Erp is mostly a passe type of job in tech
Still needed but no longer glamorous
Takes at least a decade to master erp systems

Future of erp is quite boring since SAP HANA and cloud push are still not quite there.

People abandoning SAP HR for workday, SAP CRM for Microsoft Dynamics, SAP PS have competition from Primavera, Fiori is a big pile of disaster, Ariba sucks as well and is not even integrated to MM, SAC implementation is total headache and so on.

If you don’t mind handling all the unnecessary complicated things in SAP, there will always be a place for a sap person. You have to be good in both functional and technical - too risky to just do one imo.

It's good to hear that you're interested in becoming an ERP consultant. I am actually an ERP consultant, and I absolutely love my job! After finishing my bachelor's in information technology, I got the job straight away, so you can imagine; I am really happy about it since companies usually ask for a minimum of 2 years' experience. In the company I work, I mainly deploy ERP software and come up with some ERP solutions. I also write programs and scripts to design user-friendly interfaces. By the way, our team is extending, so if you're willing to become an ERP consultant, then please get in touch with us via this website s://.copelandbuhl.com/acumatica-erp/.

Is SAP dead? They don't seem to pay as well as other tech roles

SAP market rate ranges from 5k to 9k for consultants. generally 7k.
context would be your experiences level - 3years - 15years.
nowadays there is no functional vs technical, everyone expect you to know abit of both. best to position yourself as 70% functional, 30% technical.
SAP is not only about SAP consulting, it can be also support, project manager, business analyst.
The upper end of consultant pay is about 9k - 11k.
Support / Business analyst roles ranges from 4k - 8k.
But PM can go from 12k - 20k. (who has the money to pay this? think O&G, FMCG, Banks - most are using SAP, but not all of course).
No doubt, SAP looks ancient - but why people are still holding on to it. Yes SAP HR is taken over by Oracle workday and SAP success factor - another other best of breed - but will this impact SAP as a backbone system? (I can say from my 15 years - experience - no - its just too painful to change your backbone)

SAP (as an ERP, not technology) is a stepping stone. There are people who are 100% into configuring the software, there are also those who rise to the occasion and turned into VP / director. Even now, there are finance jobs and logistics jobs that states SAP knowledge is a MUST (but they are not hiring consultants, just users).

all that said, is it easy to be an SAP consultant?
nope, competition is great - globally.
but it still gives you an edge.
