It really depends on the situation like the person's current pay, experience, project's budget, etc.

True, in ACN it's important to fight for yourself. If not your project won't even consider you for anything, even if they can provide you the opportunity for your career to grow, because your name won't even pop up in their mind and they will feel that you might be okay with your current role.
It also doesn't hurt to always keep a look out for exit opportunities anyway.

Accenture don’t give pro-rated increment, they give full regardless how late you join.

If not prorated, this means that person really gotten the treatment of "i dont want to give you increment but die die have to so heres 1%"
I wonder what he has done to deserve such bad ratings.
