Yeah good performance without your supervisor and PL giving a f means you got to jump through crazy hurdles/stupid games to even be considered for promotion.

Having a good influential PL is important though, knew of a case of someone where he did not know himself was performing at the next level initially, and his PL told him and let his supervisor know, so they can push a promo case. Ended up relatively fast promotion

Meanwhile my PL when I confront him with evidence and impact of the work I do after missing promo rounds he says he don't know if I'm performing at next level lmao. Had to confront my supervisor myself, have my PL talk to my supervisor, then PL says the same tune. Absolute joker

There will be no promotion anyway, no matter how we perform

Speaking of PL, mine only contacted me 3 times per FY for setting priorities, review priorities and performance outcome result.

He just took my CV when HR notified him that I have been on the bench for while a while.

Side topic

do u all feel some manager that ask you for availability and if you can commit very rude?
especially those from "certain-country"

They will just directly ask, "Ask you available? can you work?" without any context, then they will say "Give me an answer by today...", some will just call you randomly

If I reject, they will sound unpleased, and very rudely leave a message
