Salary is a different story it’s not low rather it’s also above the market but considering the amount of OT etc is not balanced that’s for sure. So those who cannot leave to better companies and perks will continue staying here which is a wise choice. Know of cases who left to other companies with slightly higher pay but end up regretting and cannot jump to anywhere better ended up being worst, or those go big 4 or NCS basically is a downgrade. But if you can go FAANG or MBB or Tier 2 strategy boutique gp ahead for sure

How long have you left accenture ? Hot skill bonus discontinued for years already.

Those good times is good but if you’re no longer useful or company not doing as well or “cost saving plans” like recent CitiBank then sayonara to you.
This is a balancing thing you have to weigh yourself lo. Especially if you’re from Tech and you got no solid hard skills, hard to last long outside in big tech firms. Growing your career here will make a better choice

Even if you do not have hard technical skills, there are other positions that are less demanding technically in big tech firms too. To not even try to get out is just sad seeing how Julie is doubling down on her bet in cheap India labor and freezing promos and salaries globally. How to grow your career like that? This is not even mentioning the increasing PIPs and benching going on

Insider news, know a few who is still jobless now and don’t make sense that they quite without having a backup plan. So the answer is clear.

One more data point for you:
I quit last year after hearing the promo freeze. Found a new job but never update linkedin cause I want to settle into my new job first maybe after probation then I update.
Perhaps others the same too

It's true regarding quiet layoffs.
2 months of base pay compensation,
with 2 months of base pay of gratitude lump sum.

If you’re those high performers you’ll be getting your promos on time or not too delayed, and higher than average bonuses too. Interesting projects also come to you and you won’t even have the chance to get bench. Know of a few people like these, I’m not one of those lah I’m average but ya lah jump out is a sooner or later thing. But I think people need to be wise about it and not just in the heat of the moment to jump out and end up regretting explains why there’s those couple of boomerangs. But they tend to be good performers too who decide to jump back as a SM and above and enjoy the life more

Fair op, not saying all are like that, just personally know and have worked with some who left without any other jobs. Didn’t asked too much so not sure if by choice or well got asked to leave, just don’t think anyone in the current job climate will quite without a backup job. Congrats to you anyways on your new role.

Do you know how they got the news? Is it through PL and do they inform in advance for you to find a new job in time? Are those quiet layoffs for those who are constantly benched and cannot promote or not doing fantastic?
