Consulting and strategy dte is more competitive than tech side. They need a lot of headcount for tech side and mass hire even if you have irrelevant degrees such as history and literature. Think it’s so simple to get in as consulting analyst meh, everyone wants to come in as consulting analyst but majority get business analyst or business and integration analyst roles instead. If you applied earlier on in the opening you’re considered lucky to be posted to consulting dte, but usually past interns are subjected to two rounds of interviews (one with project head and another final one with MD) to be able to get an offer for consulting dte, or course skipping EE and other stages. If you applied late or got referred in you also need to go through interviews. Why consulting dte is more popular with many ppl wanting to get in but end up only a few get the role…you think the md and all dumb ah lol, they more strict with the consulting analyst they hire than the tech implementation analysts lol. That’s why that op mentioned how someone from the tech side put himself as under strategy and consulting dte lol.

But anyways from my understanding, can understand why those really are consulting analysts under the strategy and consulting ‘department’ are unhappy about the guy who claim he is also holding the same position when he is from another ‘department’. Getting into the strategy and consulting ‘department’ is tougher than getting into the technology side where he is. Highly believe the person did try for consulting role but did not get offered that that’s why he still puts himself as holding that role when he isn’t.
