the "ready" not "ready" thing is hao xiao one la
sometimes even after 1 year if no headcount they also wun promote u, they will just say u "not ready" lor
sometimes u nvr do anything much, but when u reach 1 year they will promote u, cos they want to avoid the hassle, then u are "ready"

😬 cos thought purpose of TAP was to promote analyst to snr analysts after one year since many leave at analyst level previously.

assuming the above are tech heavy SWE roles, then no ofc not. theres a reason why they are paymasters and lead the pay scales for tech paying well above median.
there are multiple technical rounds for FAANG level and some of them are notoriously hard. in fact, a good part of the pre-game is studying for the technical interviews in and of itself.
whether technical interviews like whiteboard questions are a good assessment is a topic for another day tho.
bottom line - tech pays well cause the barrier to entry to most places worth their salt are high.
that being said, you dont necessarily have to have a CS degree as well. as long as you are willing to grind for the aptitude and have some kinda passion + talent for it, youd generally be a good fit. speaking from personal experience.

Agree to this. End of the day is see if your people lead/ manager/ project MD wan push for u or not. If they not interested you can forever diao at L10/ L9…

dun talk abt tapper program
when u reach lvl 8 and lvl 7
sometime people who do more does not get promoted, whereby ppl dun do much out of the blue get promoted
can be due to relationship, or just nice the team need to promote a somebody close, or gt ppl resign, and need a headcount
just nice his profile fit
for example, a cloud engineer quit, they need somebody with cloud background, so they just promote that person with some cloud cert
