Yup, but as mentioned, even if project put you up for promo, if your CC feels you're not ready - which means to say he/she don't wanna fight for you or feel you have no chance, can be due to MAL or story not that great... Even if project support you for promo, you have no chance for promo cos you won't even be part of the promotion discussion lol which mean you can't even get into the promotion list.
Which is what happened to that guy ma, his CC doesn't feel he's ready yet. I mean, it can also be the proj didn't support his promo which is why the CC never support as well.

Did you talked to your PM on whether does the project supports your promotion?
If project support but CC doesn't support, you should ask why. Cos if project does support, you can still push your CC to put you up for promo - cos that's their job, to represent you in the talent discussion. But hor in this case you need to prepare a good story for your CC to present for you lol. Doubt your CC will be happy to prepare a grandiose story for you in this case.

Correct, hence theres a difference between CL10Y1 (5.3k) and CL10Y2 (5.7K).
However, noone knows if they are going to promote those CL10Y2 to CL9 as someone mentioned that the TAP Director said to stay at CL10 for 2 years.
Source: I'm CL10Y2, I receives email on TAP courses that states CL10Y2, while some of my CL10Y1 colleagues receice CL10Y1 TAP courses.

No. For instance, you can have 200 L11 in the MU being discussed for promotion to L10. But they only allocated 50 L10 slots.
So they will discuss who will be promoted and then allocated them into the first list (first 50) and then some of the rest to the second list (backup list) and I believe there's also a third list.
So there's one thing about EOY and Mid Year promo is that as many has mentioned, you need to be supported for EOY before you are able to be considered for mid year. UNLESS stated otherwise. IIRC last year mid year was a special year in which there's a directive from the top stating everyone gets a chance to be promoted.
So yes, it's crucial you always talk to your CC/PM whether do they support you for EOY Promo, cos if they don't, you can assume mid year you won't even be in the picture.

Generally, yes. Though if the proj is under the same account as your current proj, it's a different case.

I don’t get why people here so eager about analyst to senior analyst promotion.
Hard truth is most people here won’t even stay more than 3 years to hit CL9
