Retake GCE O Level English ?
I have graduated with a diploma from Singapore Polytechnic in 2011, I have also have place to study business in UniSim in August 2014. I have just got an offered from a company which insist I need to retake my English O Level, as I got a D7, I will get my yearly increment only when I have passed my English O level.
What is happening here ? I took my GCE O levels in 2007 which is 7 years ago, If my English is so bad, how would Singapore Polytechnic have awarded me a diploma ?

Even people with D7 in English can take engineering diploma. D7 is actually dam bad. Lest your an ah tiong then perhaps its understandable. D7 can never apply for proper government jobs. Even local uni requires students with D7 in English to take an English proficiency test. If its a graduate job, you be glad the company hire you despite such English grade

Lol. Its just O-level English. Dont tell me a 23-year old man like you is afraid that he can't pass O-level English? Just take it and be done with it. Dont even have to study for it.

You can start by writing in proper structure and spelling. Else come the exam, you may write the same way as you do now due to habit. Pray bear in mind that the exam standards you experienced back then will be vastly different from the current standards. It will be good to buy some assessment books to practice.
