Higher starting pay for civil servants
The Public Service Division has announced hikes in the monthly starting salaries of fresh graduates employed under its civil service schemes. The announcement is made in a press released dated yesterday and reported in the media today.
I took a look at the press release. The biggest increase is found in the engineering profession scheme - $620. Perhaps this is an indication that engineers have been very underpaid in the past? These are the latest salary information of the various civil service schemes: - Management Executive Scheme (Good Honours) from $2,410 to $2,800 (increase of $390) - Management Executive Scheme (Pass Degree) from $2,180 to $2,350 (increase of $170) - Accounting Profession Service (Good Honours) from $2,640 to $2,910 (increase of $270) - Economist Service (Good Honours) from $2,850 to $3,320 (increase of $470) - Education Service (Good Honours) from $2,560 to $2,820 (increase of $260) - Education Service (Pass Degree) from $2,240 to $2,470 (increase of $230) - Engineering Profession Scheme (Good Honours) from $2,570 to $3,190 (increase of $620) - Home Affairs Uniformed Services (Good Honours) from $2,630 to $2,870 (increase of $240) - Home Affairs Uniformed Services (Pass Degree) from $2,260 to $2,570 (increase of $310) - Foreign Service (Good Honours) from $2,760 to $3,320 (increase of $560) - Statistician Service (Good Honours) from $2,650 to $2,990 (increase of $340) Quote:
