Pharmacy hardest course.
Pharmacy harder to study la... bell curve so tough. Harder than medicine and dentistry which don't have bell curve. Chem engine now need only BBCB

Good thing is you can do locum, and that's quite a nice and flexible job that offers decent pay. Which you can do on weekends (as a sideline) on top of your job.
Chemical engineering is a good course, but I assume would be harder to study as oppose to Pharmacy. Unless you're good with maths, physics, and some computing of course. Prospect wise I would say Chem Eng is more versatile with more options than Pharma. If your grades are solid, and you've secured internships during your study, you could be working for big O&G companies or in financial industry. But you need FCH plus solid CCA and internships.

That being said, with the opening of more hospitals and polyclinics, there maybe more career progression now.
With respect to job scope, to be honest, there is a shift in how medicine are now being prescribed and distributed. What you've said is true; working in hospital is different than working as a locum. Well if you want stable job that's truly 9 - 5, then yes being a pharmacist in hospital is good. Work challenges wise, I think you will handle more office politics than actual work challenges. And yes, you will be handling the same job scope, unless you decide to venture into administration side. After all, it is a very niche profession.

I believe SUTD or SIT got pharmaceutical engineering course. Best of both if you ask me, but career wise will be limited to pharmaceutical industry. Chem Eng graduate can join O&G (Exxon, Shell), Semi con (Micron), Pharma (GSK, Pfizer, Norvatis), Food (Abbot) so more options really. However, Chem Eng degree in Pharma more suitable to work in API plant in Singapore but API plants (only GSK, Pfizer, MSD have) are quite rare nowadays with most companies building biologic plants. I am a Chem Eng working in Pfizer API in Tuas, good working hours, doing meaningful work, friendly colleguaes, but not much money (fresh grad expect ard 3.7k max, i 5 years experience only make 5.6k)

This is true. Pay also not as high as dentist, doctors and chemical engineer. Really underappreciated and overworked group of people. Even nurses got better recongition for their altruism and efforts and require just straight Cs to enter in NUS.

Top 4 in terms of igp, bell curve and workload, but sadly starting pay quite bad... Heard last time their internship pay is only $5 per day yes per day not per hour..

I heard this story too that Pharmacy is very insanely competitive to enter and to study in, and there was a case when someone got 4 As with 2 distinctions in S paper but B4 in GP got rejected 10 years back .
Im surprised that chemical engineering now only requires BBCB to enter, in my years need at least AAB to enter. i got AABC b3 and was accepted, but my friend who got ABBC wasnt. That was in the 2000s. Perhaps now more are inclined towards computing studies already. Heck, i switched to a teaching career after graduation though hahaha.

Hey! So glad to hear you switched to a teaching career! Is it with the Ministry of Ed?
