Expected pay as ITE lecturer

Hi

Can existing ITE lecturer advise on the expected pay for someone with 15 years of industry experience looking to join ITE as lecturer? What will be the range likely? I did some research and it seems like 5k plus? Unlikely to exceed 6k. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hello everyone,

I would appreciate to get some advices from the experts!
I recently applied as an ITE lecturer in business services, however im wondering what salary range can I ask for?

Im a product and marketing manager, no experience in teaching though.
Have been working for 7 years and intend to teach modules like customer service, marketing, events planning.
My degree is from university of Murdoch.
My diploma is from university of Bradford.

Looking forward to the replies!

Your tertiary education credentials are dubious. Those acquired from distance learning.

Have you even gone for an interview yet? These days, they are extremely stringent.

I have 10 years of building project and maintenance experience, NTU degree (2nd lower) and NUS master with the industrial cert matched the job requirement, currently just hit 40yo & married. My last drawn is 6k plus. Recently I was invited for interview as ITE for lecturer post after long wait. Is it reasonable to put 7k as expected salary? Or should I just put same as my last drawn salary.
Look forward to all feedback.

For perspective applicants, do note that ITE is looking out for local graduates NUS, NTU..

Culture

Hi would like to ask how is it culture like working as other NON lecture role at ITE.
Is it a lot of old people? Or is there a great mix ?

ITE lecturer here. First of all: yes, we are teachers with a fancy job title. But we are way above MOE teachers as we prepare the students to be ready for the industry, which in turn will help them to earn a living. Coming to teach in ITE is a calling and you must be patient with the students. Having said that, the salary is not too shabby and the welfare/work-life balance cannot be found elsewhere.

For those in the lowest salary scale (for diploma holders with at least 3 years of full time working experience), salary ranges between 2700 to 2900. I fall under this category as my degree is from a private university, so I was employed based on my diploma. The cap for those in this scale is around 4300. But diploma holders with degrees from private unis can be emplaced to the degree holder salary scale. ITE does not hire fresh graduates (with diplomas and degrees), with the exception of the PE and Lifeskill department.

Degree holders with industry experience (at least 3 years full time), ITE will normally match or pay more than your current salary. Based on that, they will then place you in the appropriate salary scale.

There are 4 bonuses: mid year, end of year, 13th month (calendar year) and performance (financial year). No point competing with your colleagues for the performance bonus as the grades are given on a take-turn basis since everyone is doing the same job.

"way above". lol you joke. no wonder earn so little. I would like you to try to teach someone who has not gone to both pri and sec school. you fool.

I think the poster had wanted to say 'way below' MOE teachers. Which is the case actually.
