Advice needed on a teaching career
Hi all,
I am currently working full time and I am also concurrently a adjunct lecturer at a private school. I have a Masters degree and I teach mainly business subjects. I wish to make a career switch to become a full time lecturer. I have been applying for numerous teaching vacancies at poly and private schools but did not manage to secure any teaching jobs. I am open to full or part time opportunities.
In order to get a teaching position in local polys, does one need to have "connections"? Are there any associations or clubs where one can find such "networking opportunities" for lecturers?
Thanks for your advice

The problem with teaching business subjects in poly is anyone who has gotten some sort of masters or bachelors in business subject in the past with some private sector experience is trying to get one of these lecturing gigs.
Let's face it - it makes good money with hardly much work. It's kind of like extra pocket money on top of a day job. What is your masters in and more importantly which university is it from? Also what is your role in the private sector now?
For business subjects because they are so broad based and non-technical, holding a senior leadership positions in a large MNC with regional or global experience together with qualifications from a strong university helps greatly.
