If you are asking you probably behkan IBG. Unless it is IB Ops, for which the answer is: they are both the same.

True.. the difference between IBG and Ops is as stark as night and day.. if you are asking, you shouldn't apply to IBG because you would probably not even land an interview..

Lol this IBG is the renamed SME banking lah. This kind of grad program only meant for mediocre grads who cant land anything better

A candidate needs a 2nd upper gpa to even be called foe selection. Personally I think those who are shortlisted are of at least decent calibre. Off course those competing for BB banks are of higher quality otherwise cant clear assessment centre rounds.

Incorrect. For SME Banking and Ops, 2nd lower can be accepted into the programme. These two divisions are not as selective because they are not as prestigious as other divisions and local banks don't enjoy the same prestige and can't offer the same level of exposure as the big international banks. For SME Banking, clients are small and insignificant local companies. You will be spending alot of time talking to unsophisticated towkay uncles and dealing in simple banking products like cash management products. For ops, the work is highly routine and at risk of being disrupted by tech. It is also considered a dead-end career with poor prospects and slow progression.

Agreed. Turnover is also very high because people realize that there's no further career growth. Why do you think they can afford to hire so many fresh grads every year?
