Nope... you're at the mercy of the senior management back in HQ. Just look a deutsche bank for example, how many got retrenched suddenly in SG after they exit the global equities market

European banks are in a shitty position now but they act like they are still relevant. But US banks are still very healthy, I wont see retrenchment anytime soon.

You'll never know man. Banking as a whole are seeing huge changes due to new tech, investment banking, sales and trading is currently not as prestigious as it used to be in the past already

DBS given its status in SG its much safer and secure so no worries about that

Yes it's prestigious until one day when you try tapping your card into the office and realize for some reason it doesn't work...

For many investment banks and those focus on trading etc, their operations are very risky. So really the risk also affects your job security. For DBS with significant revenues from their consumer banking and sme banking it inherently carries less risk
