Would be interesting to know who works in corporate communications, which industry and what are the important skills to acquire?

rational thinking, logic and writing skills.

If you have to ask something so basic like that here rather than doing a simple google search then you're not cut out to be one.

good acting skills help

degree in mass comm preferred, or general arts degree also ok

extroverted personality and good networking skills ie. people must like you as you are often dealing with media members or other stakeholders who you need to bring 'on your side'

helps a lot if you're good looking, especially if good looking female

good writing and presentation skills

persuasive and creative to think of campaigns/ideas to promote your company's message

writes well, presents well, friendly? able to effectively use social media to engage public
