How come so many jobs openings seems to appear in job portals forever one?
I have been jobseeking for several months and I have noticed that there are many jobs which seems to be appearing on Jobstreet, Jobsdb etc all time round and I wonder what actually makes them advertised for the same jobs for several months consecutively and counting? Or is it a real job to begin with?

Might be fake. or might be there just to collect resumes. Or even to just fulfill the requirements of posting on jobsbank for a certain period of time before trying to hire foreigners.

Most low level jobs with <10k pay are come & go type. Since people are resigning & getting hired all the time the job ads will keep appearing as many different manpower agencies will just continuously put up ads for the same jobs to capture the contract.
Most middle level & above jobs are not put up in job portals as they are targeted search and the hirer is not interested in spam CVs from the mass market.

And the best part is many MNCs are doing such things. Even companies linked with the Singapore government also do that.

Get real dude. Big MNCs are more than adequate to get a long line of applicants the moment they put up a job ad. They are not going to waste time & money faking job ads just to collect random low quality resumes in the market.
Do you know how much thrash and useless resumes you get posting ads on job portals? I once work in a contract job for HR in a small Jap firm putting up ads for operators, execs & jr managers. For every 1 job ad you get like 150-200 applicants and majority of them are useless because either totally no exp or foreigner without employment pass. It is a pain to even open the files 1 by 1 to scan through. I think for those good MNCs the ratio is higher, maybe 300 resumes for each job ad. That's why most MNCs now outsource to agencies to do the screening.

Or it may be pipelining for future positions. I.e the position is still not approved and available at the moment and the employer is looking for candidates in advance due to reasons like bulk hirings etc.

I have also encountered such things for several interviews I have attended before.
They shortlisted me for interview and I attended the interview, after there's no response from the employer side and a few weeks later when their job openings in job portals expired they reposted their job openings again.
For one of the companies that I interviewed, I understood that they are undergoing a massive expansion at the moment so it might be possible that they might need many people for the position so they look for hires several months in advance.
