Hi I am an ex tr who resigned in 2014 in term 3 of my 4th yr, and I was geo 1.1 according to the old scale by that time, n mayb 1 more yr to 1A1 generally, yet I still chose to quit as I was offered a full scholarship for my phd, which had taken me 6 yr until 2021, I then rejoined as a fajt since, as I am yet considering whether rejoin as perm, does any1 know which grade I might be placed according to the current scale if I rejoin as perm? Thank in advance for replying!🙏🙏

Or which grade is previous geo 1.1 in the current scale? As a trained tr with 4yr perm experience and 1.75 yr fajt experience, normally which grade will I be placed?

I think GEO1A1 mapped to current GEO3, so the one before that would be GEO2.
As for where you're likely to be emplaced to… can hope for anecdotal sharing to be done if anyone here has experiences, but you're probably better off checking with HR directly.

This is rather strange, if you have spent so much time and effort in your PhD and even obtained a scholarship for it, why didn't you choose to join the organisation that offered the scholarship? I'm sure your pay will be a lot higher due to being 1) a scholarship holder for that organisation 2) a PhD holder.

Thank you for sharing, you’re right, I would have most probably choose to do so few years back, to do research in an academic organization overseas, yet now considering my parents’ age, their unwillingnesses to move overseas and the fact that I had been given so little time to them, and especially after my uncle passed away so suddenly in just late 50 while 4 of his children all stayed overseas and couldn’t be back due to the pandemic, my mind has changed anyway, and honestly, I’m actually quite happy with the fajt teaching, I mean without the admin and cca, which makes me feel like what I’ve been thought of as a teacher before I first joined, just that I also worried if it could be stable enough…

Do you earn more as compared when you were a full time

Thank you for sharing.

Yes. I just counted today and realised I have 18 to 19 students for tuition. I do one-on-one tuition and I do it on weekends and public holidays as well.
On a good month when lessons are more consistent, my tuition income is $6k to $8k+. MY FAJT pay is $5k+ to $6k+ (Gross).
I honestly enjoy it. It makes me feel fulfilled and productive.
My last pay before I quit teaching full time was about $6k gross.
It looks like I earn a lot more than I was a full-time but I don’t have holiday pay (June and December) and bonuses and Connect Plan.
