No bonus. What most FAJTs do is to give tuition after school to make up for the income. Retired Teachers who are old or in poor health usually don’t give tuition. Parents also do not want Teachers who are old. Some parents even specify that they don’t want teachers above 40.

If one wants to go for a better work life balance, and not compromise too much on pay, will part time scheme 60% workload be better? Just considering the different options.

I had tried part time load before. Colleagues do not see your part time pay but they sure have some opinion about your part time work load. Depending on your school and SLs, some Teachers felt that they were on part time pay but still full time load. It’s harder to draw the line sometimes.

i'm sure 2/3 workload or 1/2 load comes with significant pay cut as well.
only good thing is probably can still get aws and all the mid yr n year end bonus, while fajts can't get.
but yea, 2/3 workload or 1/2 workload officers still has to take up some portfolio, albeit lighter ones, but its still portfolios since 2/3 n 1/2 load officers still get ranked? fajt doesnt have to take up anything at all, so i guess fajt's load is still a bit lighter but they lose out on aws.

For a part timer on 2/3 load, wouldn’t it be disadvantageous during ranking since he/she does much less than a full timer?

no choice. that's the way it is. If 2/3 load officer gets higher grade or gets promoted faster than full load teacher, that's not fair right?

Honestly speaking, I think those who are not on full load e.g. adjunct, part time scheme etc, don't really care about ranking lol.
Mental health and time for yourself and your family are more important
There are actually some people who stay as adjunct for a very long time. They seem a lot happier and energetic at work too.

Are you a current full-time MOE teacher? Or an ex-teacher?

Oh! Can you apply while still in service? Had thought you should wait till after your last date to do so.
